We got stuff! Lots of stuff! We are collecting your stuff for our 25th Annual Auction and Rummage Sale ... the weekend of July 12 & 13. We are now filling our fifth room inside the church. And outside we are up to three trailers full as well as a lot of stuff sitting outdoors. You can still bring your stuff to us! There are volunteers staffing the area on Saturday mornings from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Or call the church office if you need larger items picked up. All this stuff is sold and the monies are used to support various mission projects.Thank you for your support!

Kathie Brekke & the Apostles Blues Band will lead OUTDOOR worship this Sunday, June 30th, 10:00am!!! They are a summertime favorite at CLC!! Kathie's group combines lively blues, jazz & gospel beats that will have you tapping your feet and maybe even clapping your hands (in a shy Lutheran way)!! Come praise the Lord with piano, bass, drum and joyous voice!

Today is the Second Sunday after Pentecost. The scripture reading is from Galatians 3:23-29. Highlights from Deacon Yvonne Steindal's sermon: "...We tend to dwell on our differences rather than celebrate what unites us. We are quick to label people who look, think, act or believe something different than we do...." "The Christian church has the opportunity to do something different - to behave differently - to model true unity. But, a lot of times we are more part of the problem than we would like to admit. It's really nothing new. From time immemorial we - as sinful human beings - have looked for ways to place divisions among ourselves...." "...Despite what we may think or how we treat each other, no Christian is better than another. Whether you have been a member of this church for your entire life or whether this is your first visit. The "stuff" that divides us is really trivial things...." "Everything changed when we were baptized. In baptism we are made into a new creation. We enter into Christ. We put on Christ. There is no difference in our membership We all become children of God. We are family." "...This is what unites us: We are all created by God. We are both alike and different from one another. But God calls all of creation good. There is a purpose in life for each and everyone of us. We are all called for a special purpose. All of us screw up and fall short of what God would want for us. We all sin - but it is not the last word. Only God has the last word and that word is that we are all forgiven. We all share in the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. God loves us and saves us despite our failings. We cannot separate love for God from love for one another...."
This year's Vacation Bible School will be held Monday thru Wednesday, August 5-7 from 9 am to 12 noon. WANTED: You! We need adult volunteers in a lot of different areas in order to make VBS happen for your children and grandchildren. There are Sign-Up Sheets outside of our worship space OR call Deacon Yvonne and say "Yes! I will help! Where do you need me?"

We have so many ways to identify ourselves and our neighbors. St. Paul reminds the Church, “In Jesus you are one – beloved and first and foremost Child of God! Come celebrate Good News that in Christ, all belong to God!

Join us for outdoor Worship - Sunday, June 23, 10:00am!! Spencer Livdahl & Friends will lead us. Spencer is a Concordia Grad from the area (now resides in the Twin Cities). He was a member of the amazing Concordia Concert Choir and currently sings with a professional choir in the Minneapolis area. WE are thrilled that Spencer (& Friends) will lead our outdoor worship!!

Today is Holy Trinity Sunday. The gospel reading is found in John 16:12-15. Highlights from Pastor Wade's sermon: "The Holy Spirit is a little bit confusing. There are a lot of images of the trinity. How do we understand this mystery? The bible is a description of how we experience God in our life. How does it help us to experience God as Creator, Redeemer and Sanctifier?" "In the darkness of our soul, in tragedy, when the future is unknowable ... God loves us still. No matter our limitations God has purpose and meaning in our lives. God works thru tragedy and brings good out of it." "God rescues us through Jesus as Savior. When we're wounded by our poor decisions God specializes in forgiveness and healing. Sin is when we do the wrong thing and when we neglect doing the right thing. We all fall short. Jesus rescues us from our dying. Baptism and funerals go together. There are limits to our lives." "The Spirit is strength, energy, comfort, sending and help. The Spirit is courage in times when it is difficult. The Spirit is also for guidance - our conscience - protecting us from what hurts us. The Spirit is also our guide. It is God nudging us. The Spirit reminds us that we are blessed to be a blessing to others. The Spirit turns us around and returns us to the route." "This is how we experience God's love for us. This is how we experience God's passionate involvement in our lives."
Happy Father’s Day to our Fathers and Grandfathers! We give thanks for the loving care of those with us today and also remember those who have guided us and prayed for us and are waiting for us in the Lord’s resurrection presence!
